The protocol you will need to select when you forward the port is TCP. You will also likely need to forward the port in your router. When a server is hosted for the first time, a message from your firewall may appear. If a port is not specified, the default port of 6400 is used. If a room is not specified, the server will create a new room with a random ID. Either join a public server or host a private server. If each player does not have the exact same save file, the emulation will most likely desync. The save file is located in the “Save” folder in Project64 by default.
If you have a save file for that game, send it to each player. (The netplay plugin relies on a real input plugin to do the actual work of reading input from the keyboard/controller.) Make sure only one controller is “plugged in” for each player that will be playing locally (at the same computer).Ĭhoose a game to play. Select an input plugin from the dropdown menu and configure the plugin.
